Eckington, a neighbourhood in Washington, D.C., is well-known for being one of the city's oldest. In 1830, the land was developed as a private estate, and in 1887, it was converted into a neighbourhood. Today, Eckington is a charming, family-friendly residential area that attracts people who prefer a small-town atmosphere while still having access to all of the amenities of big-city life. Instead of office buildings and industrial complexes, there are historic single-family homes, townhouses, condos, and apartments.
