Autumn in the DMV is hands down my favorite time of year. With the cooler temps, football  , Halloween  , and Thanksgiving  ...what's not to like?! It's also a time of year to take a moment to pause and truly take a moment to appreciate all of the things we have in our lives to be grateful for, there's indeed something special about this time of year.

Recently, my family and I had the opportunity to explore Butler's Orchard for their annual Fall Pumpkin Festival. What a great time! Butler's transforms their farm into a giant playground for kids and adults alike. We enjoyed horse rides, a petting zoo, potato sack slides, mini John Deer excavators, corn mazes, face painting, and hayrides, to name just a few of the highlights. However, if you were to ask Dahlia what was her favorite activity, she'd emphatically yell out "THE BIG BOUNCY-BOUNCY!!" Essentially a giant air mattress that kids were losing their minds jumping up and down and running on. 
Butler's Orchard has enjoyed 73 years since being established by George & Shirley Butler in 1950. What originally started as a peach stand under a large apple tree has grown to over 300+ acres of awesomeness! This year-round farm is a must-visit. And, although you'll have to wait until next year for the Pumpkin Festival (and likely need to fight off Dahlia for time on the "bouncy bouncy"  ), you can still enjoy a fall day of picking apples  , hitting their farmhouse market, or even cutting down your own Christmas tree  (for those who celebrate).
